Target

Advanced graduate students (PhDs). Other applications will be considered on a case by case basis if there is space (admission is competitive). 

Goal

To mix students and lecturers with empirical and dynamical training within climate science and focus on understanding the basic principles and dynamics relating to the global water cycle.

ECTS
Participants can receive 4 ECTS credits for the course, PhDs in Norway can receive 5ECTS with an extended project report to be submitted after the course is complete.
Costs
There is a nominal registration fee of 1000USD. Thanks to support from our sponsors, accomodation, full board, and field excursions during the summer school are covered for all participants. Note that travel to and from the venue is not covered and has to be organized and paid for by each participant.
Financial support (for registration and travel)
Students who cannot attend without financial support can apply for support after admitance to the course. Please note that financial support is limited. Priority will be given to applicants from underrepresented groups to ensure a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
Travel
Abisko has its own train station right by the research station. Travel by train from Stockholm to Abisko (https://www.vy.se/en, or by plane to Harstad/Narvik (connecting flights thru Bergen, Trondheim and Oslo) and train/car to Abisko. 
Schedule
See the past schools for examples and follow #acdcsummerschool on SoMe. The course starts early on Monday the 18th of August and ends with lunch on Friday the 29th of August. This means that all participants are required to arrive Abisko on the 17th of August. Early arrivals or late departures will have to find accomodation outside the research station.
